Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026

LinqUp is operated by BLU PLATFORMS PTY LTD(“LinqUp”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the LinqUp mobile app, the LinqUp web app at app.golinqup.com, and this website at golinqup.com — and how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have.

The short version:

  • We collect what we need to run the service: your sign-in details, the plans you create, and your availability.
  • We never sell your data, and we don’t show ads.
  • We don’t access your contacts and we don’t track your location.
  • In the apps, usage analytics are optional, anonymous, and off until you say yes.
  • You can delete your account, and its data, from inside the app.

Information we collect

Account information. You can use LinqUp as a guest without telling us who you are — a guest account is just a random identifier. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture (if your provider shares one) from that provider. Apple lets you hide your email address, in which case we only receive the private relay address Apple generates for you.

Profile information. The display name you choose when setting up your profile.

Content you create. The plans you make and take part in: plan names and descriptions, preferred dates and times, locations you type in (an address or a meeting link), your availability, your RSVP responses, and a plan activity record of changes (for example, who scheduled the plan and when).

Notification tokens. If you turn on push notifications in the mobile app, we store a device push token so we can deliver them. It is removed when you turn notifications off.

Your settings. Your notification and analytics preferences.

What we don’t collect. We do not access your contact list, track your device’s location (plan locations are only what someone types in), use advertising identifiers, or set tracking cookies on this marketing website. The website measures page views and clicks on its buttons anonymously, as described under Analytics below.

Analytics (optional)

We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how LinqUp is used — for example, how often plans are created or which screens are visited. Analytics only run if you agree when asked during setup, and you can change your answer at any time in your profile settings.

If you do opt in:

  • Events are recorded under a random identifier that is never linked to your account, name, or email address.
  • Events describe actions and screens, along with basic technical context such as app version, device model, and operating system. They do not include the content of your plans, and identifiers in web addresses (such as plan and invite links) are stripped before anything is sent.
  • We do not record your sessions, capture what you type, or use analytics data for advertising.
  • Analytics data is processed by PostHog in the United States.

This website (golinqup.com) also uses PostHog, to measure how well it is doing its job: which pages are viewed, and which of its buttons are clicked — for example “Start planning” or an app store badge — together with basic technical context such as your browser, operating system, approximate location (the country your IP address suggests), and the page you arrived from. It records nothing you type. These measurements are anonymous, keep no cookies or lasting identifiers on your device, and cannot be linked to an app account, which is why the website does not ask for consent first.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Run the service — sign you in, store your plans, show your availability and responses to the people in your plans, and send the notifications you’ve asked for.
  • Keep LinqUp secure and working properly.
  • Respond when you contact us for support.
  • Improve the product and this website, using the anonymous analytics described above.

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing you haven’t asked for.

What other people can see

LinqUp is for planning things with other people, so some of your information is visible to the members of plans you join: your display name, profile picture, availability, RSVP status, and the actions you take that appear in a plan’s activity feed. Your email address is never shown to other users.

Plans are joined through invite links. While a plan’s invites are open, anyone with the link can join and see the plan’s details, so share links only with people you want in the plan. Plan owners can close invites and remove members at any time.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run LinqUp, each receiving only what it needs:

  • Google Firebase — sign-in, our database, and our backend. Your account and plan data is stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States.
  • Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.
  • PostHog — the app and website analytics described above.
  • Apple and Google — if you choose to sign in with them.

Because these providers operate outside Australia, your information is stored and processed overseas, primarily in the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the app. Doing so permanently removes your profile, your settings, your sign-in record, and every plan you created — including for the other people in those plans.

Contributions you made to plans created by otherpeople — your availability, RSVP responses, activity entries, and the display name shown alongside them — remain part of those plans, because removing them would break the plan for everyone else in it. If you would like those removed too, contact us and we’ll help.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit, and access to it is restricted by per-user security rules — for example, your profile and email address are readable only by you, and plan data only by that plan’s members. No online service can promise perfect security, but we design LinqUp so that each piece of data is visible to as few people as possible.

Children

LinqUp is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Your choices and rights

You are in control of your information. You can:

  • Use LinqUp as a guest, without sharing your identity.
  • Change your display name at any time.
  • Turn analytics or notifications on or off at any time.
  • Delete your account and its data from inside the app.

You can also contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to raise a privacy concern. We’ll respond as soon as we can.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and revise the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we’ll let you know in the app or on this site before it takes effect.
